Had a good time camping. Only negatives are you can't have an open fire and I got a tick

I visited the camp on 14-15 December 2017. First the Mudgeeraba Springbrook road is closed. Takes an extra 40 minutes ( if you not get lost) to get there. As all sites was booked out (11) and at least 2 spaces was empty obvious some people is lost somewhere. On my booked site somebody already was camping. Contacted the booking office, just to be told nothing they can do. Later when the campers come home we find out they booked a different site. Can happen, because most sites site numbers are missing. So I set my camp where the other campers booked originally. The site was untidy, including an used condom! ( site 7 ) This is the only camp in the area. Considering the road closure and the neglected ,untidy camp I would go somewhere else.

And the whingers - its a heritage-listed National Park, of course there's going to be ticks and leeches (and other animals like snakes and crayfish), that's what happens in nature. And as for nothing to do, what were you expecting, a bloody amusement park? Maybe you guys should have done some research beforehand like a normal person.

I like this spot. It is one of the best campsites I have ever stayed at. There is plenty to do around here, and I didn't get any ticks. If you don't like it, don't give it a bad review just because you had a bad personal experience. It is disappointing that you gave it a single star.

Its quiet and out of the way and that's why we keep coming here. Also since there's only 11 spots you don't get a tonne of people and the sites feel pretty private. Can't wait to go back again in a month. There's heaps of walks to go on, cafes and the best fudge shop just down the road.

Do not believe the Queensland Parks booking web page, this is a very busy camp area and fills up most nights. The eastern sites tend to be more open and sunny, the western more sheltered. Good facilities, BBQ shelter and tap water. Walking distance to the Purlingbrook Falls.
